Dickens Station Marley's Curse, Dickens Station Story Series

Marley’s Curse Cover Reveal

Cover Reveal - Look at what's coming to Amazon, July 25, 2023 for Christmas in July!

I had a lot of fun designing the cover for Marley’s Curse, A Dickens Station Treasure Hunt Mystery. I knew right away that DC had to feature prominently on the cover. After all, she is one of Dickens Stationers’ favorite characters and plays an essential role in the story. Besides, cozy mystery readers love cats.

The puzzle box in the background is the inspiration for one used by Jacob, Cynthia, and Eli used to find Merritt’s Treasure. It is a functioning puzzle box I made for one of my daughter Cindy’s mystery parties several years back. I’ve created several mystery-themed birthday parties for my children over the years, and props from those adventures (including at least one secret compartment in my garage) still exist. The props come in handy for inspiration when writing mystery novels.

Finally, the magnifying glass holds a special place in my heart. It was a gift from Cindy for my birthday and looks exactly like the magnifying glass I envision our heroes using in the puzzle room throughout Marley’s Curse.

So, while this may not be a professional cover created by a graphic artist and designed to sell the most books, this cover shares insights into the story and this author’s heart. I hope you like it.

I’ve seen “professionally designed” covers that weren’t nearly as well composed and failed to portray any elements of the story. You done good! 😉
