The Adventures of Young St. Nicholas

What kind of story is The Adventures of Young Saint Nicholas?

Friends have been asking this question to know if they would be interested in reading the book. So, discovering the answer is becoming more important as I creep closer to the book launch in November. The problem is, Young Saint Nicholas doesn’t fit neatly into any single category or genre.

I believe the correct answer is Christmas Adventure, a genre I just made up.

Christmas Adventure is a sub-set of Christmas Fiction. Christmas Adventure is what you would get if the Hallmark Channel produced The Polar Express. Young Saint Nicholas is not a children’s book, but it is a safe read for young adults and those of us older adults who enjoy action and adventure without the language, sex, and violence. It’s a page-turner, except nobody is murdered or commits any major crimes.

So, there you have it! Christmas Adventure it is. Although, since Amazon doesn’t have that category (yet), when it’s published, you will find it under Christmas Fiction and Historical Fiction. My next book, Marley’s Curse, is going to be Christmas Adventure as well, so Amazon might just as well get used to it!
