It’s Christmas week at Dickens Station when recently retired railroad conductor George Gandy finds himself alone and covered in snow on a bench at the railroad station with a cat asleep on his lap. In one mysterious and event-filled evening, with the help of some of Dickens Station’s more colorful characters, George finds the strength to manage his pain, chooses to move forward into retirement, and rediscovers his life’s passion.
