A New Dickens Station Novel

And so it begins!

I am so excited to share with all of you that I have started the process of writing my third novel. I say “the process” of writing because I’m still a long way away from actually writing the story. I’m gathering plot and character ideas. There is research to be done, a rough plot outline to be completed, character arcs to think about, clues to be crafted, etc. So don’t get too excited. Marley’s Curse took me two years from “starting the process” to “the end,” and that book won’t be published until Christmas of this year. For now, and certainly subject to change, the new novel’s working title is Elizabeth and the Toymaker. The story will be a modern-day mystery adventure set in Dickens Station based on the legend of Elizabeth and the Toymaker introduced in Marley’s Curse. Old Joe, Amelia Dickens, and DC (certainly) will be back, along with cameos from other familiar Dickens Stationers. The important news is I’ve started a new project. Between writing this new story, editing and preparing Marley’s Curse for publication, and improving my marketing skills, I’ll be busy for quite some time.

I still don’t understand my friends who keep asking if retirement is boring.
