I was raised Catholic in a Slovak household (my grandparents being first generation Americans). Our main Easter dish was halupki. We ate halupki throughout the year whenever we wanted, but it was a must at Easter. Parboil whole cabbage leaves, fill them with ground beef, garlic, ground coriander, salt and pepper, wrap them up, cover them in tomato sauce, and bake until the beef is cooked, about 30-40 minutes. That’s how my family did it, anyway. I made halupki recently and it was very nostalgic. Reminds me of Nana. 😊
